Meet Pat Singer

Pat Singer

Why do artists create?

I suppose there are as many reasons as there are art – and artists.

But, one things seems abundantly clear from the countless interviews I have enjoyed with artists.

Artists are compelled to create art. Whether they do this as a full-time occupation, a hobby, an every-day activity or a sporadic endeavor.

I recently met up with artist and Graphic Designer Pat Singer.

Her latest artwork is imaginative and inspiring. One can feel the messages contained in her work.

In the latest SolFul Connections podcast we discuss some of the messages wove in her artwork. We talk about beautiful Bucks County and its impact on her and her work. And, we discuss the journey from her childhood as a quiet and shy little girl who grew up to make an impact in the business and art world.

Here are some of her latest pieces with the titles and Pat’s descriptions:

Connect: Humans and Animals are unfathomable and unknowable, yet we must coexist for the chance to survive and thrive.
Earth Movers: Personal work exploring the idea of change, growth, and the power of female energy as it connects with the environment.
Helpers: This was painted during a time when our family went through some very difficult challenges. The art was my response to the tremendous feelings of gratitude for all the support we received from doctors, family, and friends.
Stronger Together: This was painted in response to the senseless and baseless killings of unarmed people of color, such as George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and sadly and horribly, the list goes on and on.
Listen: Humans have rich interior lives that remain a mystery until we share them. Only after truly listening, do people give us a glimpse of what is inside their hearts.
Infinity Girl: This image explores the mercurial moods of a teen and the challenges that are part of the transition from child to adult.
Synergy: My husband and I try to truly coparent our teens. We lean into our strengths and use our Synergy to raise our girls to become their best selves.
